Mitosis Skill Tree: How to Open It and What Token Unlocks Give You

The Mitosis skill tree is locked until you rebirth. Your first rebirth is what opens the tree, and it's also what earns you Tokens — the currency you spend on the tree's nodes. Every node you unlock adds a permanent boost, and those boosts stick around after every rebirth that follows.

How to open the skill tree

1. Play the normal loop. Split and sell cells for Cash, and buy upgrades to grow faster. If you're just starting out, the Mitosis beginner guide covers the basics.
2. Rebirth. Rebirthing resets your progress, but it earns Tokens and opens up the skill tree — it's the gate for the whole feature.
3. Spend Tokens on nodes. Once you've rebirthed, the tree is available to you, and Tokens are what unlock its nodes.

What the nodes give you

Each node you unlock with Tokens adds a permanent boost that survives every later rebirth. That's the whole point of the tree: a rebirth resets your run, but the boosts you've already unlocked stay yours, so each rebirth leaves you permanently stronger than the last. The tree is massive, too, so there's plenty to keep working through as you rebirth again and again.

Where Tokens come from
